In addition to offering private lessons I am the former Manager and Principal Trainer for Broadway Dog Spa at 3 Stevenson Road in Hewlett, NY.

My affiliations include membership in the Academy of Canine Education, and I count as my partners veterinarians and people in dog-related professions of various natures.

I am a professional animal handler with Pet Safe Coalition Inc. Pet Safe is a non-profit educational cooperative effort of local groups and government working together to assist people and their pets during times of disasters. Local evacuation shelters will not accept pets, so you must make your own arrangements to keep your pets safe during a disaster. In the wake of the tragedy that was Katrina, Long Islanders have become aware of the need to take precautions should we be faced with fires, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, or explosions.

On a more personal note, I am a lifelong dog owner and resident of Queens (living for the past 22 years in Whitestone). I have spent my entire life in New York State. I am an active member of the dog-owning community, and current Chairperson of the Freedom Run Dog Owners Association.

Chloe (pictured on top) loves the park, people and animals alike. She brings endless joy to me, my wife and children, and all that come to know her. Such dogswith a solid obedience education are a joy to live with-they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who took the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation, and a high quality life.

DID YOU KNOW??? Some helpful information for taking care of your dog.

• A dog needs one ounce of water per pound of weight per day.
• Example - a 30 pound dog requires 30oz of water per day.
  

• A puppy should be taken outside to go to the bathroom at intervals of one hour per month of age.
• Example - a 2 month old pup should be taken out every 2 hours.
  
  
• A dog can be trained at any age. You can teach an old dog new tricks.
• The ideal age for obedience training is between 4 and 18 months. The dogs brain reaches full maturity at 18 months.
  
  
• If you crate your dog, the crate size should be 1.5 times the size of the adult dog.
